Welcome! I am Sara Conybeer, an abstract expressionist (sometimes realist) painter and fiber artist working out of my beautiful basement studio in Washington state. I was born in rural, central British Columbia, Canada, to a family of artists, and I have lived all over British Columbia, Alberta and even in the Yukon for a time. Spokane, Washington is where I now live with my husband and our three kids.
My nomadic journey through my life has led me to develop a broad range of artwork…from large canvas art, murals and hand-dyed/felted wall tapestries, to pop art and ethereal watercolours. I am a multi-disciplinary artist and through the use of various media, I express my voice. I long for a deeper connection to nature, emotion, spiritualism and the divine feminine. I work in a cyclical manner - going with the tides and the moon and flowing freely with my innermost feelings. The range of artwork that I produce changes like the seasons as I move through my inner world.
My highest goal is to serve humanity through inspiration and light...and to restore the balance in a world full of men as leaders (the patriarchy) with women who are warriors. I love creating portraits of strong women who are so high above the worlds politics and religion that they are untouchable, and sacred. I aim to create pieces that speak to the divine feminine and stir something in all of us to create a better and more peaceful world. It's a lofty goal I know, but I am not deterred at all. Artists move mountains.
